We are in Valdez relaxing at the Bed and Breakfast. On Friday Bonnie picked mom and I up and we drove to Lost Lake, like an hour away. Today I went over to Alaska Fish and Game to see if anyone knew what the bird call I recorded was (it was driving me crazy! Haha). The person who helped me was the guy who taught What's in the Woods? at BOW and the Beyond Bow Track and Sign class! He listened to it and was like "oh yeah, that's a Swainson's Thrush!" This morning we met at the Fish and Game building and then piled into the van and Mike drove us to Chena Hot Springs Road. There was SNOW up there..aaah! Such interesting microclimates here haha. Next month there's gonna be a Beyond Bow Track and Sign Clinic in Fairbanks..and of course mom and I are going haha. She said it was taught by the guy who did the What's in the Woods? class which is AWESOME. He's a really good and passionate teacher. I just hope there won't be snow on the ground yet..
